The data protection kickstarter is a questionnaire under Data Privacy Assistant → Kickstarter that generates first drafts from your company structure. You select your departments, your core tools and the typical processing activities per functional area, and state whether you act as a data processor. At the end Cenedril turns this into draft entries for asset management, the records of processing activities and the data transfers, which you then review and complete in the assistant.
Start the kickstarter
Open the kickstarter
In the sidebar open the Data Privacy Assistant and select Kickstarter. The page shows the Data Protection Kickstarter title at the top, a progress bar, and the first page with notes on the flow.
Read the notes
On the start page Cenedril points out that every generated entry is a draft and must be reviewed. Skip Questionnaire takes you straight into the assistant without using the kickstarter.
Click Next to begin.
Capture organisation and tools
Select departments
On the Organizational Structure page you select the departments or functional areas that exist in your organisation. For each selected area you can optionally assign a primary responsible person.
Choose core tools
On the Core Tools & Platforms page you mark the major software platforms used across your organisation. This selection helps pre-fill the options on the following pages. Use Show All Tools to reveal more tools if one is missing.
Answer processing activities per area
Pages for the individual functional areas follow, such as finance, HR, marketing, sales, IT and others. On each page you state which activities take place there, which tools are used and which service providers are involved. Save Draft stores your progress at any time.
State processor role
On the Acting as a Data Processor page you indicate whether your company processes personal data on behalf of other companies, with your client acting as the controller. If yes, you add the categories of processing and the departments and tools involved.
Generate the drafts
Review the summary
The last page, Summary & Confirmation, shows a preview under Items to be Generated: the total number of assets broken down into internal and external entries and tools, and the number of processing activities. A table lists the planned ROPA entries with their internal and external recipients.
Generate the draft data
Click Generate Draft Data & Start Wizard. Cenedril creates the assets, generates the draft entries for the records of processing activities and the data transfers, and merges them with any information that already exists. The view then moves into the data privacy assistant.
Result: the kickstarter is complete. Asset management, the records of processing activities and the data transfers now hold first drafts, which you review, correct and complete page by page in the data privacy assistant.
