Read and filter the activity log

Updated on 2 min Open in Cenedril

Goal Trace who in the organisation made which change and when, narrow the list with filters, and export it as CSV when needed.

The activity log shows who in your organisation made which change and when. You open the page via Activity Log, narrow the list with the Area, User, Event type and date filters, and export the filtered view as a CSV file when needed. Each row shows the timestamp, area, the person who acted, and a short description of the activity.

Open and read the log

Open the Activity Log

Open the Activity Log page. A short note sits at the top, with the filter row and the table of entries below it. By default the list is sorted by timestamp in descending order, so the newest entry is on top.

Read a row

Each row has four columns: Timestamp (date and time of the change), Area (for example Asset Management or Signatures), User (the person who acted), and Activity (a short description of what happened). The Timestamp and Area columns sort the list when you click them, and an arrow icon shows the active direction.

Filter the view

Narrow by area

In the Area field pick the area you want, such as Registers, Documents & Records or Access Management. Choose All areas to lift the restriction again. The table updates immediately.

Filter by user, event type and date range

In the User field select a specific person, in the Event type field type an action (for example asset.created) and pick from the suggestions. Use From and To to set a date range. The filters work together, so you can show, say, all changes made by one person in one area within a single week.

Reset the filters

Reset filters clears all filters at once and brings back the full list. For longer lists, use Previous and Next at the bottom to page through the entries; the total count sits to their left.

Export the view

Export as CSV

Click Export CSV at the top right. Cenedril generates a CSV file of the currently filtered view and downloads it. The export honours the filters you set and covers all matching entries across every page.

Result: the activity log shows the traceable changes in your organisation, you have narrowed the view by area, person, event type and date range, and you can save the filtered list as a CSV file.

Frequently asked questions

Which activities appear in the log?

The log records traceable changes from all areas of the organisation, such as Asset Management, Registers, Documents & Records, Signatures, Tasks, Training, Access Management or the assistants. Each row shows the timestamp, area, the person who acted, and a short description of the activity.

How do I find the changes made by one specific person?

Select the person's name in the User filter. The list then shows only their activities. You can combine this filter with Area, Event type and a date range (From / To).

What does the Event type filter do?

The event type names the concrete action, for example asset.created for a newly created asset. You type a term and pick from the suggestions. This narrows the view more finely than the area alone.

Can I export the log?

Yes. The Export CSV button downloads the currently filtered view as a CSV file. The export honours the filters you set and covers all matching entries across every page.

Can I sort the list by date?

Yes. Clicking the Timestamp or Area column sorts the list, and clicking again reverses the direction. An arrow icon in the column header shows the active sort.
