Pull printing (also called follow-me printing) is a printing method where a print job is only executed when the sender authenticates at the printer, e.g., via badge, PIN, or fingerprint. The job is held in a central queue until then. Pull printing prevents confidential documents from sitting unattended in the output tray where unauthorized individuals could see them. It also reduces wasted prints, since the user confirms the job on-site. For your ISMS, pull printing is a practical measure for protecting printed confidential information, especially in environments with shared printers.
